DESIGNSTUDIO
LUCY.D

Barbara Ambrosz & Karin Santorso

In 2003 we founded our design studio Lucy.D in Vienna, Austria. About 2 years ago, we opened a second studio at Steyr, Upper Austria. Our work is all about a straightforward, clear approach to design.

Thus we design products in the fields of product design, architecture and corporate design.

Our basic approach is to explore the poetry in everyday life which constitutes the basis for developing inspiring as well as practical products. We search for the balance between tradition and innovation, sense and sensuality, detail and ensemble.

Lucy.D works in an interdisciplinary fashion and both designers are familiar with various technologies from manufactural up to robotic processes.

We plan our concepts with a high degree of sensitivity for the brand and material in question and support our clients throughout the whole process starting from implementation until the actual production of the final design product.

Our clients include companies such as Alessi, Augarten, Café Landtmann, Vienna, Lobmeyr or office furniture manufacturer Wiesner-Hager. Tèo, the teaspoon for Alessi is awarded the Menzione d’onoreCompasso d’Oro in 2014. Liquid Skin, the drinking bowl for Lobmeyr is now a fixed part of the collection at the Museum of Modern Art in NY and their new cake design line for Vienna’s Landtmann’s Fine Patisserie was honored with the Wallpaper Design Award 2015.

PORCELAIN MANUFACTORY NEUZEUGHAMMER

Beate Seckauer

I am working with porcelain in architecture and in the object sector for 25 years and have been running my porcelain factory in Neuzeug for 9 years now.

The old Neuzeughammer factory has so much history, I want to carry that further and represent that in my products.

The surrounding nature in its boundless wilderness and beauty here in at the river Steyr provides me with a seemingly endless source of inspiration and power.

My work here at the porcelain manufactory prevents this traditional handicraft from going extinct.

For me the synergy of traditional handicraft paired with natural materials and high quality design

Is basically a guarantee for a successful future.
